The North Carolina Women’s Summit: Women Moving Mountains happens November 10, 2018 at The Collider in Downtown Asheville. This is the first time in four years we’ve gone west and we’re very excited about the journey.
Join women leaders from across North Carolina to discuss policies as they relate to women in the state. This annual event, coordinated by Women AdvaNCe, aims to pool together the perspectives of all women in the Tar Heel State, so we can collectively shape the politics and policies of our state.
This year’s Summit includes keynote speaker Mandy Carter, lightning rounds on eight different topics affecting women, break out sessions, and a curated Women AdvaNCe Ideas and Products Market for women-led businesses and organizations.
Topics we plan to cover in this Summit include:
Economic Issues – Living Wage/Affordable Housing/Paid leave
Equal Rights Amendment: How Do We Get NC on Board?
Midterm Postmortem – How Do We Move Forward with Female Leadership?
Intersectionality – How do we get out of our silos and have inclusive and productive conversation with each other?
Hot Topics in Women’s Health
Women as Entrepreneurs – Barriers and Successes
#MeToo movement – best practices for small businesses and nonprofits
